Transparent
Technologies, Inc.
Completes IT
Infrastructure
Upgrade for Georgia
General Assembly
Atlanta, GA, June 6,
2006 – Transparent
Technologies, Inc. (TTi)
announced today that
it recently
completed an IT
Infrastructure
upgrade for the
Georgia General
Assembly (GGA).
The project scope
included an entirely
new infrastructure
ranging from a new
server room to edge
network equipment.
As evidence of the
project’s success,
both the House and
Senate issued
resolutions (SR
1357, HR 2159)
recognizing the hard
work and dedication
of the TTi and GGA
IT Department teams.
With a compressed
timeline of three
(3) months, TTi met
all requirements
prior to the General
Session’s January
start, according to
Scott Henry,
Director of IT for
the Georgia General
Assembly: “TTi
completed the entire
scope of our project
in an extremely
short timeframe.
Their goal was
always implementing
the solution on time
for the GGA.”
The scope of work
included a
high-availability
clustered
environment, design
and construction of
a new data center,
new central and edge
network equipment,
deploying over 600
new laptops and
desktops, secure
wireless LANs in
both the Coverdell
Legislative Office
Building and State
Capitol, and an
integrated set of
security appliances
and standards. TTi
also completed MS
Outlook and Office
training for over
350 users in one
week.
TTi provided network
monitoring and 7X24
technical support
throughout the
General Session from
its in-house Network
Operations Center, a
contract which the
GGA recently
extended. This
extension proves the
value of the project
according to Steve
Blackmon, CEO of TTi.
“The Georgia General
Assembly project
demonstrated our
full range of
services from
enterprise IT design
and implementation,
to 7x24 NOC support
and system
monitoring. We are
very pleased with
the success of the
project and proud of
the confidence the
General Assembly
continues to place
in our services.”
