Candidate
will
perform
integration
on
equipment
built to
open
standards
for the
cable
Video on
Demand (VOD)
market.
Position
will
require
working
with
multiple
vendors
to
provide
a
solution
that
meets
our
customer’s
needs.
Position
will
also be
part of
the
group
that
performs
Tier 3
technical
support
to our
Network
Operation
Center.
Travel
up to
50% to
customer
sites
across
the US
and
possibly
abroad
will be
required
for this
position.
Preferred
Experience:
Exposure
to
Motorola
cable
plant
Database
experience
(SQL,
Oracle)
Working
knowledge
of XML,
ftp,
SNMP,
ssh
Working
knowledge
of VOD
BS in
Computer
Science,
Computer
Engineering
or
Electrical
Engineering
Required
Skills:
Ideal
candidate
would
have a
Sys
Admin
background
and have
worked
closely
with
either
SUN or
Linux
systems.
Candidate
should
also
have a
solid
networking
background.
Candidate
must be
comfortable
interacting
with the
end
customer
and have
the
ability
to
maintain
a
professional
demeanor.
Minimum
Requirements:
3-5
years
work
experience
in
either
Cable or
IT 2-3
years
working
with a
UNIX/LINUX
platform
2-3
years
operating/configuring
Network
Switches
Must be
able to
work
independently
with
minimal
supervision
